Helmet Stupa (2019) is a collaborative site specific installation between Richard Streitmatter-Tran and artists, faculty and students belonging to the Silpakorn University Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts. The installation seeks to connect two common objects found throughout Thailand, the helmet and the stupa - both seen as providing protection - one physical and the other spiritual.

Constructed over four days from bales of rice straw over a bamboo tensile structure, the 5 meter tall sculptural installation was completed for exhibition in conjunction with the Arcade Symposium (Art, Crafts and Design) at the university.
